Stage Management

From calling cues to paperwork, I am a coordinator of chaos behind the scenes. I manage and facilitate production processes from before the first rehearsal through a show’s final curtain call, ensuring that everything— visible to the audience or otherwise, is executed flawlessly

About my practice

Prep & Paperwork

Every day as a stage manager starts and ends with paperwork. In this position, I create detailed show bibles complete with daily schedules, rehearsal reports, calling scripts with slip sheets for blocking, and more. This allows me to document changes throughout the process for later reference, track show elements like props or costumes, maintain calendars for anything from costume fittings to production meetings, and anything else that my show may need.

Rehearsal & Production Support

I work with actors and directors to manage the rehearsal process, preparing and striking the rehearsal space, sending daily calls and rehearsal reports to the team so that everyone stays on the same page with the current state of the show, noting changes to blocking or scripts, etc. In the production process, I lead the implementation of technical elements and their interfacing with the performance team.

Showtime

When it comes to a show’s actual run for audiences, I can often be found calling the show from the tech booth. If I’m not in the booth, I can be found running around backstage managing scene changes and flly cues, props, costumes, entrances, and more. This is my favorite part of the job because I get to really feel the show live in the room and the connection that it makes with its audience. All of the work that has gone into each and every aspect of the show comes together and I get the privelage of operating that well oiled machine. I also ensure the completion of all pre and post show duties such as cleaning, presetting, checks, and keeping cast and crew on time with costumes, hair, makeup, etc.
